Tost’s words strongly imply that another year of poor performance from Tsunoda will not be tolerated, which puts the driver in a do-or-die situation. The campaign kicks off in Bahrain on the weekend of March 3-5, which is where Tsunoda already finished eighth 13 months ago, in what will prove to be his second-best showing of the season.
And at the launch in America, Technical Director Jody Egginton was confident that the engineers had improved drivers’ prospects: “Almost all areas of the car represent strong development from the AT03, and great attention has been paid to the packaging so that we get the best basis for aerodynamic development.”
