The Portuguese captain paid for tents, food packages, pillows, blankets, beds, baby food, milk, and medical supplies to help provide relief to those affected by the tragedies of the region. Goods were sent to both Turkey and Syria.

This news comes after the spread of a video clip of Najm Al-Nasr embracing a Syrian child whose father was among the dead in the disasters. 10-year-old Nabil Saeed was captured on social media expressing his love for the 38-year-old star and hoping to see him confront a Saudi rescue team who had traveled to Syria to provide assistance in the aftermath of the earthquakes.

Before he was tracked down, an emotional moment in the clip saw him asking Saeed who would like to travel to Saudi Arabia to meet Ronaldo. “My father and mother,” he said, before correcting himself in heartbreaking scenes.

However, he was named the league’s Player of the Month for February, highlighting his excitement at winning the award. Ronaldo wrote on Instagram, “I am happy to win the Best Player of the Month award for February in the Saudi Roshen League.” Hopefully it will be the first of many! Proud to be part of this team.”

Meanwhile, loading the plane with care items is not the only generous act Ronaldo has done towards earthquake victims.

Through his former Juventus teammate Mireya Demiral, the Turkish international auctioned Ronaldo’s signed shirt, along with Leonardo Bonucci’s shirt, in order to raise money for those affected in his country.
