Watch out for the Cheshire Cat — or Kittu in this case — as Creative Director Giuliano Calza called it. Giant cat-like Alice in WonderlandThe Cheshire Cat presided over the runway, moving its paw occasionally while looking at the guests with bright yellow eyes. Kittho was an ode to Italian craftsmanship, covered in newspaper clippings that inspire Calza’s creativity. Two great loves – kitho and clothing – merged on the runway to produce the fantastical and vibrant wonderland of Milan’s Palazzo del Ghiaccio.
Calza found inspiration in the space closest to him: his home. Yellow, pink and gray were the focal points of the show. With these colors, Calza created looks that were not only comfortable and representative of the home, but also clothes that were meant to be worn.
The collection’s aesthetic was presented as a sophisticated take on professional dress. There were ties, tuxedos, and pinstripes—and yet they were decked out in bright yellow shirts, shimmering bustiers, long skirts, and floor-length pink coats. The pieces are inspired by the velvet sofas and woven bath rugs found in the home, bringing together a cozy wardrobe feel like you’d find at home. Stars like Dua Lipa, Aaron Piper, and Amina Muaddi accessorized front row, along with phone cases, and knit punto pelliccia that mimicked a soft blanket. Models carried bags nodding to the show’s Wonderland theme, filled with gold studs, a yellow tiger print or a dazzling Kittu head. Gold metallics, gold-studded loafers, and pink latex knee-high boots walked the runway, along with yellow leopard-print belts and yellow leather gloves.
