Sky Sports host Ted Kravitz is unsure of Mercedes’ optimism as he warns porpoise hunting could still make a comeback.
The dashboard reporter confirmed that the recoil effect could return if the Silver Arrows decided to run the car close to the ground.
It comes after Wolff admitted the German factory had fixed the problems that blighted Lewis Hamilton and George Russell last season.
“Is this, basically, a good car? Luckily for Mercedes, the answer to that question is yes it is,” said Kravitz.
“But that doesn’t mean you can completely give up on the idea of running it on the ground, and then you might get the dreaded porpoises that ruined their season last year.
“So to avoid that, they have to raise the car a little bit and then continue to make it fast, they need to add some downforce on the wing.”
