Last year’s Katie Taylor Amanda Serrano was named undisputed in the lightweight court fight at Madison Square Garden by Boxing Insider in 2022 General fight. It was a real movie, with each woman rising to the occasion and fighting fiercely until the closing bell. Taylor won by split decision, although the fact is that the victory could have been handed to any of the fighters. The match was close. Needless to say, news of the rematch this coming May in Dublin has been music to the ears of many fight fans. Unfortunately, Serrano’s injury now prevented the fight from taking place.
“Due to the injury of Amanda Serrano,” the Matchbook Boxing promotional outlet stated in a press release Tuesday, “We regret to announce that the Taylor-Serrano II bout on May 20 in Dublin will not go ahead as planned. The teams are in discussions about finding a revised date. for the match. More details will follow in due course.”
As of press time, it is not clear what Serrano’s injury was or how severe it was. She battled the multi-section list earlier this month, making it easy to work on New York designer Erica Cruz. For Taylor, the last time the Irish celebrity saw an action was in October when she decided on Karen Carabagal in London.
