New reports from Italy suggest that Aina has “decided his future”, with a move to the Premier League in the wing-back’s sights.

Aina was linked to Elland Road last summer and in January while Jesse Marsch was at the helm. It remains to be seen if the US manager’s sacking in February affects Leeds’ interest.

The former Blues youngster earned several caps up to England U-20 level before switching his international allegiance to Nigeria in 2017. Since then he has won 17 caps with his stock remaining in Italy.

“Playing against this team, in my opinion, is very difficult,” he told reporters. “It’s very demanding because you have to know how you have to have players, where and when, and do it as a team.

“Because if you don’t know how to do it, they find a way to advance with different passes and a lot of mobility. They are a very good team, and that’s why the players deserve recognition because they followed the plan and did it well.”
