Not only were the three up front garnering praise, but Jordan Henderson’s effort to go a massive distance was acknowledged, as was teenage sensation Stefan Bagcetic.
The Spaniard, who has now started the last three Premier League matches despite turning just 18 earlier this season, earned particular praise from Klopp after he was awarded man of the match by former Reds defender Jamie Carragher.
Klopp said: “We’re really happy with him, he’s a big boy, really smart and calm. He played in a new position, at eight, and I asked him afterwards if he liked it and he said yes. It’s a nice story.”
The result raised Liverpool to ninth place in the Premier League, ahead of poorly performing Chelsea, while narrowing the gap to the top four to nine points, as the Merseyside team targets its lag in qualifying for the Champions League.
