A police investigator testified that Alabama basketball star Brandon Miller gave a gun to former teammate Darius Miles, during his hearing Tuesday in Tuscaloosa County Court. The gun was used in a fatal shooting on Jan. 15 according to Det. Branden Colby, although Miller has not been charged because there is no indication that he was involved or knew of an intent to commit the crime.
Jamea Harris was shot and killed again in January, and it was alleged that Miller had turned in the murder weapon.
The 23-year-old was shot and killed in the Tuscaloosa bar, Alabama, and former Alabama player Darius Miles faces murder charges for the shooting, with another man, Michael Davis, also implicated. Miles is removed from the team after his arrest, while the other man, Davis, is believed to have pulled the trigger.
However, Miller reportedly gave the murder weapon to Miles, with law enforcement stating that Miles texted Miller to bring Miles’ gun to the scene and it was replaced in Miller’s car. Miller has not been charged because there is no indication he was involved in the crime, and Express Sport has reached out to the University of Alabama Police Department for comment.
Alabama coach Nate Oates said his star player is “in no trouble” and is aware of the ongoing investigation. “We knew about it,” Oatmeal said recently.
“Not everything a person does can be controlled outside of practice. No one knew this was going to happen.
