Don't Show Again Yes, I would!

NBA star Ja Morant breaks silence after being suspended for ‘gun video’ | NBA | sports

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has released a statement after being suspended by the team after he allegedly showed off a gun on an Instagram Live. Morant appeared to brandish a gun in his hands while at a strip club in Memphis hours after his team lost to the Denver Nuggets.

The Grizzlies were quick to issue a statement, suspending Morant for at least two games after they became aware of the video. “The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that Ja Morant will miss the team for at least the next two games,” a team statement read.

“I take full responsibility for my actions last night,” Morant said in a statement. “I am sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the City of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting me down.”

“I will take some time away to get help and work on learning better ways to deal with stress and my overall well-being.”

The incident with Morant carrying a gun comes just days after he was accused of assaulting a teenager last summer and brandishing a gun in his face.

Morant’s livestream ended just moments after that, but fans quickly recorded the video on the screen and posted it on social media, with thousands watching it on Twitter.

Earlier this week, The Washington Post alleged that Morant assaulted a 17-year-old man, an incident his agent claimed was self-defense.

In that incident, Morant was also said to have brandished a gun, something he and his representative, Jim Tanner of Tandem Sports, denied. The incident was said to have occurred at Morant’s multi-million dollar mansion.

And days after that report was released, Morant appeared to have celebrated by using his fingers as a gun after the Grizzlies won, something he was criticized for.
