Peter Paul cleared of doping charges, positive drug test, provisional suspension expires, what tested positive, latest updates

Peter Paul has announced that his secondary B sample has been found innocent after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug in January.

Paul’s pause has now been lifted, which means he’s free to compete again.

More is coming …

Peter Paul’s statement in full

Last month, I told everyone I was innocent and asked everyone in Australia to believe me and let the process take place. I was hoping this operation would exonerate me. This morning, I feel relieved to report that.

I have just been notified that my sample B did not confirm my sample A. Sport Integrity Australia has lifted my temporary suspension. It is hard to describe the relief I feel.

I appreciate the support I have received from my family, my team and so many people from Australia and all over the world. The past month has been nothing short of a nightmare. I wish my sample A results hadn’t leaked out, but there’s nothing I can do about it.

To say it again: I am innocent and did not handle this substance as accused. I have never in my life purchased, researched, possessed, administered or used synthetic EPO or any other banned substance, and never will.
