Ring has amassed a large catalog of video doorbells over the years, and is adding another to its list later this year with the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus. Available for pre-order today and shipping April 5, the latest video doorbell builds on the legacy of Ring’s original battery-powered doorbell—offering a host of great features, an affordable price, and amazingly long battery life.
Battery life is always a concern for battery powered video doorbells, as there is nothing worse than having to constantly unplug and recharge equipment. Ring hopes to make this process less frustrating, as the Battery Doorbell Plus offers up to three times better battery life than the original.

Installation is as easy as always, as you won’t have to fuss with any wires or external power sources. Simply install the doorbell, connect it to your smartphone (or other smart home gadgets), and it’s ready to go.
Long battery life is the Battery Doorbell Plus’ big selling point, but Ring didn’t stop there. The newest member of the video doorbell family also features a new 1:1 aspect ratio and 1536p resolution. This is the highest resolution HD of any battery-powered doorbell from Ring, and the new aspect ratio should allow for head-to-toe viewing making it easy to see not only the people at your door but also the packages left on your doorstep.

Everything else that makes Ring so popular—motion zones, packet alerts, end-to-end encryption, etc.—can be found in the new Battery Doorbell Plus. And despite all the fancy features, it works out to a reasonable $180.
The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is available for pre-order today on Amazon or the Ring Store online, and will begin shipping April 5th.
